PRODUCT INFORMATION

It is always best to use a new piece for every application. You get better blending edges and the piece usually gets quite damaged during the removal process. For sanitary purposes as well, it’s best to use a new piece.

Please view our complete PDF (Application and Removal) This will answer most if not all of your questions regarding application and removal.

A medical grade adhesive like what we carry (Pro Adhesive) is the best. It is water based and can be removed with our remover.

Spirit Gum is an alcohol based adhesive. It can dry or irritate the skin, and usually dries crusty and cracks. Our pro adhesive is flexible and comfortable to use designed to move with you.

Foam latex is a widely used industry standard. Though not all that common, it is our obligation to inform you that some people have an allergic reaction to rubber material. If you experience any reaction to latex or foam latex, discontinue use and consult you physician.

The extra foam is called “flashing”. Gently remove this before application by pulling it away between your fingers.

There are many things you can use to color a foam latex piece. A basic application can be done using acrylic paint mixed with pro adhesive, 1:1. i.e. if you have 5 grams of acrylic, you would add 5 grams of pro adhesive to make your base color. A base color is used to seal the foam piece and serve as a starting point (sometimes referred to as an undertone) to coloring your foam piece. Try and only color the foam piece with your base color. Once that is dry, you can go over it with cream makeup (RCMA), skin illustrators, or RMG (Rubber Mask Grease) and airbrush makeup, to name a few. For more information on application tips, please download our complete PDF on this page on the application and removal of a prosthetic.

As a general rule, no more than 8 hours. This includes your application time.

It gives you more options for coloring and doesn’t restrict you to a predetermined color scheme.

Foam late has sulfur in it. If you like, you can gently wash your piece in warm water, using a small amount of mild dish soap. Let it soak for 15- 20 minutes. Gently press/squeeze the piece under the water. Be sure to use a soft touch. Do not ring out or be rough with the piece. Once you have done that a few times, place the piece in clean warm water and repeat the process taking out any left over soap. Gently press the piece between paper towels or cloth to dry up most of the moisture. Be sure to fix any folded edges by gently rolling them out. Allow piece to air dry completely before use. This process will decrease the smell quite a bit or eliminate the smell all together.
